Kuwait's budget carrier Jazeera Airways will be launching flights to Lahore starting May 12, Emirates Business has learned.

The carrier, which plans to operate three weekly flights to the Pakistani city, departing at 10.55 pm from Kuwait and arriving in Lahore at 4.40 am, has already launched online bookings for the Kuwait-Lahore route on its official website, with a round-trip costing approximately KD75 (Dh954.8)

When contacted however, Jazeera declined to comment, saying a statement would be released shortly.

Jazeera is not the first budget airline in the region that has Pakistan on its route network. Sharjah-based Air Arabia already operates daily flights to Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar, while last month, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO, flydubai told the media Pakistan featured in the airline's future plans.

Jazeera could also face competition from Pakistan's budget carrier, Air Blue, if passengers have connectivity on the Lahore route from the UAE. Air Blue operates regular flights to the city – along with other routes in the country – from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
