Qatar Airways has agreed with national and international banks on financing deals worth $900 million (Dh3.30bn) to purchase six new Boeing aircraft, Meed reported citing bankers working on the agreements.

The financing deal is split between 6 six-year loans each worth $150m.

The banks involved are Calyon, Arab Bank, European Arab Bank ING Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui, Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, it added.

Qatar Airways said in November it could borrow more than $1bn in the following four to eight weeks to help finance a $13.5bn plane order.

The Doha-based airline had ordered 57 aircraft from Boeing, with the option to buy 35 more, it said at the Dubai Airshow last year.
