RAK airport team conduct mock security exercise

Officials at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport evacuated the terminal and adjacent utility premises from passengers and employees in mock security training conducted yesterday.

Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation and member of the Administrative Board of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and Vice-Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Airline, said the training was aimed at upgrading the skills and performance security staff as per the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

The training is also aimed at assessing capabilities and skills of the security staff and their control readiness.

The training was conducted in co-ordination with the Ministry of Interior represented in Ras Al Khaimah Police and the airport's security staff. Police dogs were used in the mock operation scenario prepared by Security Police and the Civil Aviation Authority.

The mock training will be assessed to identify strong and week points in the staff's performance to ensure better control.
