Taxi service for two suburbs in Abu Dhabi

The Urban Planning Council (UPC) and the Emirates Foundation have teamed up with TransAD to launch a new taxi service for the people of Shahama and Bahia on the outskirts of the capital.

The organisations have introduced the service to improve transportation to and from the two areas undergoing huge developments, following residents complaints.

The Urban Planning Council and the Emirates Foundation took those concerns to Abu Dhabi's Department of Transport and TransAD – The Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Taxi franchises are offering regular metred taxi services dispatched from Shahama's bus station, with a telephone number available to the public for convenient booking of taxis. Bookngs can be made by contacting 02 56 33 058.
