Bahrain telecom regulator threatens Batelco

Telecommunications Co (Batelco) with possible legal action over advertisements for broadband Internet services that had yet to receive approval. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is "very concerned" by Batelco's advertising in newspapers for "New Batelco Broadband Plus", the authority said in a statement late on Wednesday. The advertisements say the services are "Coming Soon, subject to TRA approval" though the authority is still reviewing the company's application to provide them, the authority said. "If Batelco does not immediately retract the advertisements until TRA has approved the package then TRA will have to consider taking legal action," it said. (Reuters)
