Damac Properties has awarded an enabling works contract valued at more than more than Dh15 million for Executive Bay, within the Business Bay district.
The enabling works has been awarded to Al Habtoor Engineering, which was also recently awarded the Park Central and Capital Bay projects at Business Bay in Dubai.
The scope of work of the contract includes shoring piles, excavation and anchoring. The value of the contract exceeds Dh15m and the work is expected to be completed by December.
Commenting on the company's latest enabling contract this year, Peter Riddoch, CEO of Damac Properties, said: "Delays in projects have been one of the primary concerns in the construction industry and we are working tirelessly towards curbing this shortcoming that exists within the market and are focussing on timely delivery.
"This year we have awarded 11 enabling contracts and two main works contracts already, which clearly reiterates our commitment towards project completions. In the process of delivering projects one after the other, Damac is not compromising on quality and endeavours to appoint well-known and experienced contractors to ensure top-quality product coupled with timely delivery. Our association with Al Habtoor is not new and we are positive that we will be able to complete the enabling work for Executive Bay as planned."
Executive Bay, launched last year, is a 19-storey tower that features modern office spaces as well as retail and recreational facilities. Damac plans to deliver 2,300 units in 2008 and a further 7,100 units by 2010.
