The Center for the Study of the Built Environment and the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) have launched the Abu Alanda Housing Competition, seeking design entries for a model water and energy efficient low-income apartment building to be built in Abu Alanda, Jordan.

Individuals and companies are to register for the contest by January 26 and submit entries by May 20. Awards for the competition are sponsored by the JEA and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development.

The first three winners will bag JD6,000 (Dh31,000), JD4,000 and JD3,000 respectively in prizes. The contest is being organised jointly by the country's Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation.
