Work on Indigo Optima building to start in September

The main construction work on the Indigo Optima 1 and 2 mid-rise commercial buildings at International City will start in September, the developer revealed yesterday.
"Bhatia Constructing won the award for the main contractors," Anand Lakhiani, Director of Indigo Properties, told Emirates Business. "The piling and shoring is being done by our subcontractors, Valecha Gulf Contracting & Foundations, and will end in a month's time. The main work will start in September and the project is expected to be completed in December 2009."
The company is also developing Indigo Central, eight commercial buildings combining blue-hued glass with steel. They are located on either side of interchange three on Sheikh Zayed Road close to the site of a planned Metro station.
"Out of our eight plots at Indigo Central, more than 70 per cent of the structure in three plots are complete," added Lakhiani. "Mobilisation is in progress for the other five plots."
This project is due to be completed by the second quarter of 2009 and System Construct is the contractor.
Meanwhile the company said mobilisation for its project at Jumeirah Village would start in August 2008.
The company has awarded contracts to Al Mzoon Building Contracting and Chirag Contracting.
Indigo said that last year the company had witnessed both the delivery of projects and rapid progress on old projects. However, the next 12 months would present new challenges as the developer was planning a new series of announcements while implementing the new strata law regulations across its projects.
"Last year we announced that the company would be embarking on an accelerated growth programme – our fourth full year of trading," said Lakhiani. "We have seen again and again our confident predictions become a reality."
The company launched its first project, Indigo Tower, in March 2004. The Indigo Optima 1 and 2 buildings will each consist of ground plus 10 floors and currently provide the only commercial solution in phase one of the master community.
The Jumeirah Village scheme will consist of eight individual Mediterranean-style townhouses.
"We are committed to delivering high quality properties to our customers in a timely and cost-effective manner and to ensure that our entire portfolio mirrors regulatory requirements.
"We will have several new projects to announce in the summer."
