Gulftainer Company, the operator and manager of Port Khalid and Khorfakkan Port in Sharjah, plans to set up a third-party logistics (3PL) company in the UAE.
The company, which will be called Momentum Logistics, will be established in the fourth quarter of 2008 and will provide a complete suite of 3PL and supply chain management solutions. Several new 3PL companies have been established recently to tap into the booming logistics market in the region.
"We believe it is now time to take service levels within the industry to the next level," said Matthew Derrick, General Manager of Momentum Logistics.
"Our understanding of the industry coupled with our understanding of international service standards and expectations will ensure Momentum's clients receive real value for money. The range of top quality services that Momentum will offer has been specifically designed to cater for clients seeking to outsource their logistics requirements."
The new company will extend the services offered by Gulftainer, an international port management company with transport and logistics expertise.
After establishing itself in the UAE, Momentum plans to expand its services within the region in order to have total control over its supply chain management.
