Sewa completes 90% gas work in Khorfakkan City

Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) has completed 90 per cent of work on a gas station in Khorfakkan City.

The installation project, carried out in five kilometre area, has ended the first phase to bring natural gas to Kalba City in the Eastern Region.

The project is due to be officially inaugurated when the natural gas will be supplied to consumers in Kalba City.

Ibrahim Rashid, Sewa's Deputy Director-General, said the natural gas project in Sharjah has achieved a big success, as more than 132,000 consumers at commercial, residential and industrial areas take advantage of the project.

He said the gas installations network in the city has covered more than 1500km.
