The UAE realises the importance of developing renewable energy sources to support the growth of the country, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of UAE Armed Forces, said yesterday.

In a statement issued to mark the start of the World Future Energy Summit, he said: "Clean energy offers a great opportunity for Abu Dhabi, and the UAE, to establish a pioneering position in the field of sustainable development in the region."
