Fog disrupts entry of ships in US channel

About 31 ships such as tankers are waiting entry to the Houston Ship Channel, route to the largest US petroleum port, after heavy fog overnight led maritime pilots to suspend operations.

Houston pilots stopped guiding tankers and other deep-draft vessels through the channel at 6 pm, on Sunday, Robert Cole, a US Coast Guard watch supervisor, said.
