Maersk opens offshore simulator in Denmark
Maersk Training Centre (MTC) in Svendborg, Denmark, says it has opened a new offshore simulator, which will improve Maersk Supply Service's safety record further. The simulator has been three years in the making and has cost several million dollars to build. It is a joint investment between MTC and Maersk Supply Service. It has a simulated Global Positioning System and the radar accurately reflects the vessels and shoreline to simulate the English Channel. In fact, every movement of ships, wires, chains and oil rigs are accurately simulated.
