Palestine bourse woos UK investors

The Palestine Capital Markets Authority recently met with several investments funds during a roadshow by that country's securities exchange, an official release said.

During its first ever roadshow in London, from March 17–19, the Palestine Securities Exchange (PSE) officials met 10 existing and forthcoming investment funds.

The statement quoted Ahmad Aweidah, CEO of PSE, as saying the delegation found the London-based investment community receptive to the visiting team. "Many of the people we met this week had not, until very recently, even been aware that Palestine has a stock exchange, let alone that it has been running and thriving for more than 13 years," he said.

In 2009, the Al Quds index finished nearly 12 per cent up over the year, and has since risen seven per cent on that so far this year.
