Alfred Dunhill is seeking star status to their advertising campaign for Autumn / Winter 2008 by luring Jude Law to feature in them.
Jude – who is a long-term fan of the brand – was signed as a global face of Alfred Dunhill last season and launched to a very successful Spring/Summer 2008 campaign. This season Jude is shot again by acclaimed reportage photographer, Greg Williams, famed for doing the behind-the-scenes shoots during the Bond and Bourne films. However, his backdrop for the Autumn/Winter 2008 season is the Swiss Alps, specifically St Moritz and the legendary tobogganing utopia – the Cresta Run.
In the second installment of Dunhill's maverick gentleman tale (the first was based around the summer sport of gliding in the English countryside), we witness our hero indulging in a past time that requires meticulous skill as well as valiant adrenaline. The scenery is rugged, cold and challenging at the same time visually stunning.
Tobogganing is one of the most renowned and precarious challenges in the realm of winter sports. Our Dunhill hero enjoys the juxtaposition of the eccentricity of the sport and the luxury of stunning surroundings. Chosen as a scene by Dunhill for its quintessentially British appeal, the Cresta Run was built in 1885 by the British and evokes all those characteristics expected of a private members club.
Since its modern day inception in 1893 London, Alfred Dunhill Limited has offered an expansive array of masculine luxury products.
Originally offering wares for the dawn of the motorcar, the Dunhill brand was launched as "Dunhill's Motorities" and, in addition to the clocks and dashboards needed for driving, Dunhill offered signature leather jackets and apparel needed to navigate the open-top cars of the era. From that entrepreneurial legacy, Dunhill has established itself as the preeminent source of luxury goods for the modern man.
