Businesses to boost social media presence

Almost a quarter of private businesses plan to deploy more resources to boost their social media presence this year, according to the organisers of 'YouLearnTwitFace', a social media conference that will be held in Dubai.

"Twenty-two per cent of SMEs are planning to focus on social networking; 28 per cent on online videos and 21 per cent on mobile advertisements," said Gautam Ganglani, Managing Director of Dubai-based Right Selection, organisers of the conference. He was citing a report released by Ad-ology Research.

Ernesto Verdugo, the UAE-based internet events expert, is the host and keynote speaker for the event. "This event will study how social media is used by businesses and business opportunities available for professionals on blogs, social networks, podcasts and online videos," he said.
