Dubai 92 FM was voted the emirate's 'Best Radio Station' by around 30,000 voters in the TimeOut's Best in Dubai Awards 2009 public poll.
Arabian Radio Network (ARN), under which Dubai 92 is operated since 2004, also won three other nominations for City 101.6 FM, the English-language talk station Dubai 103.8, and the top-of-the-charts broadcaster Virgin Radio 104.4.
Dubai 92 features top-billed programming and presenters such as Catboy and Geordiebird in the Breakfast Show and Sarah Kilalea on Dubai Drive. Steve Pulley, Head of ARN English Programming, said: "The award is not the first and will certainly not be the last. The station had achieved significant growth just recently in the Ipsos radio survey, and the 'Best Radio Station' award is the icing on the cake."
He added: "The positive results that we have achieved are giving us a good momentum, and are a bright acknowledgment of the hard work of the team.
"The success of our programming is due to the fact that we cater to a diverse audience, offer a lot of music and intelligent talk. According to research including our target audiences and demographics, our breakfast show is one of the best radio morning shows."
