Dubai Lynx awards to be announced this evening

The Dubai Lynx awards moved a step closer to the grand finale with the announcement of shortlisted entries in the TV/cinema, TV/cinema craft, interactive and radio categories.

Festival organisers announced that the jury had shortlisted 143 entries vying for the honours at this year's Dubai Lynx Awards, the largest awards celebrating creative excellence in Mena's advertising and communications industry.

Food and beverages had the largest representation in the list with 24 entries, followed by banks and financial institutes 111 entries in the march to the grand finale. The winners in each category will be announced today evening at a gala function at the Palladium in Dubai Media City.

Festival organisers will also announce the decision of the jury who will pick the Agency of the Year and Media Agency of the Year award.

There were 327 entries submitted in these categories with 82 TV/cinema, 18 TV/cinema craft, 13 radio and 30 interactive entries making it through to the shortlist.

A record number of delegates attended another busy and inspirational day of seminars and workshops.

They included presentations by Chuck Porter, Co-Chairman of Crispin Porter + Bogusky on 'Award-winning work: how it's changing and how it's not' and John Hunt, Worldwide Creative Director of TBWA\Worldwide, talking about 'The art of the idea'; and Contagious and Publicis Worldwide presenting its session on 'Change the conversion'.

The three jury presidents, Amir Kassaei, David Nobay and Barry Cupples, also addressed the audience.
