The first season of Hydra Executives, the brand new English reality-based series that will pit a team of eight American contenders against a group of eight British rivals, is set to debut tomorrow, according to Hydra Properties, one of the leading real estate developers in the UAE, and All 4 Media, the producers of the show.

The developer also announced that leading free and niche networks will be airing the 28 episodes of the reality TV series, including Showtime Arabia, Infinity TV, Emirates TV and RETV.

Subsequently, the show will have two different time slots every Wednesday at 7pm and 11pm on Showtime and Infinity TV, respectively. In addition, a delayed telecast of the latest episodes of Hydra Executives will air every Tuesday on Hollywood.tv and Emirates TV from January 13.

The 16 contenders will engage in a cunning battle of wits and strategy, in a quest to take home the top prize comprising a funded business venture worth up to $1 million (Dh3.67m).

Filmed entirely in Abu Dhabi, Hydra Executives will be hosted by Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, Chief Executive Officer of Hydra Properties, who will also assign the weekly tasks to the teams and will ultimately judge who among the contestants will be named the first Hydra Executive. Furthermore, the show is also set to feature cameo appearances by Donald Trump Jr and Ivanka Trump, of the The Apprentice fame, as well as from a number of Hollywood A-listers.

"Our venture into the entertainment world has proven to be a worthy investment on our part, which does not only underline the resilience of Hydra Properties in terms of diversifying into a wide range of industries, but more importantly our commitment to boost the reputation of Abu Dhabi in the global market," said Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim.

"My pride on being a part of this breakthrough project is matched only by my excitement with the airing of the show's pilot episode. As the host of the show, I am confident of the strong entertainment value of Hydra Executives and that it will draw in a considerable number of audience within the region and across the globe."

"We are delighted to take part in such a spectacular show," said Muhammad Nasir Ali, Station Manager of Infinity TV.

"Our channel is well known for its entertaining and informative shows, and Hydra Executives definitely fits the bill. The show's potential to educate and entertain by focusing on the entrepreneurial abilities of candidates will not only supply great conflict and excitement to the show, but will also put the spotlight on Abu Dhabi as one of the richest and fastest growing development market in the world."

Hydra Executives will be telecast with complete Arabic subtitles.

The show is being supported by a list of high-profile sponsors, including Range Rover, General Motors, BlackBerry, etisalat, Asus, Panasonic and Debenhams.
