New Zealand house prices rise for fourth month

New Zealand house prices climbed for a fourth month in January, fuelled by increased demand for property in the nation's largest cities as the economy emerges from a recession.

Prices increased 4.4 per cent from a year earlier, following a 2.8 per cent annual gain in December, according to a Quotable Value New Zealand index.
