Sharjah eases regulations for bachelors

Sharjah Municipality has eased regulations for people looking to rent apartments in the emirate, according to a news report.

According to Arabic daily Al Khaleej, the municipality is no longer asking tenants to submit their spouse's passport copy for getting their tenancy contracts registered in areas reserved for families.

Moreover, the municipality will also allow bachelors to reside anywhere in Sharjah, provided only three tenants share the apartment with the permission of the landlord.

Consultants said the decline in property prices in Dubai has allowed people from Sharjah and Ajman to move to Dubai.
