UAE investors eye Australia

Australian real estate property is now becoming a sound investment choice for many UAE residents particularly on the residential side, according to a realty expert.

"For Australians, the sentiment around investing in Australia spells a more long-term opportunity while investment in UAE is considered a short-term investment opportunity," said Samantha Payne, Director, Original Property Brokers.

"A very small number of Australians have invested in UAE property and almost all of them are actually residing here in UAE. They prefer to invest in Australian property for long term growth and security," she added.

Original Property Brokers, Conext and SMATS have joined forces in Dubai to offer a "one-stop shop", providing a range of Australia wide property investments, business opportunities, finance, taxation and migration services for Dubai and UAE residents.

Over the past 10 years there has been demand from UAE investors for Gold Coast and Queensland rental, holiday and residential properties. On the other hand, many Australians are venturing into the UAE, particulaly Dubai, to seek career and business opportunities.

According to latest figures, about 30,000 Australians expats are living in the UAE.
