Kenzo has designs for Middle East

 

Fashion house Kenzo, owned by the LVMH group, has unveiled a new collection of its hugely successful Pagodon bag dedicated exclusively to its Middle Eastern customers. Designed by Creative Director Antonio Marras to celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary, only 23 out of the 40 special edition bags will be on sale until Wednesday at Galleries Lafayatte for Dh6,500 each. Ali Mostafa for Alfred Dunhill

 

Emirati filmmaker Ali Mostafa has been signed by British luxury retailer Alfred Dunhill as its brand ambassador in the Middle East. The City of Life director, whose much-awaited debut film is yet to go on general release, has already received rave reviews on the festival circuit.

"The style and the attributes that Dunhill represent are very much in line with what I appreciate in men's fashion," Mostafa is quoted as saying, while company officials said he "embodies the qualities of the Dunhill intelligent gentleman".

 

Lanvin puts its stamp on history

 

As part of its on-going 120th anniversary celebration, French fashion house Lanvin has revealed several stamps for the French national post, La Poste. The stamps, now on sale, are designed by Alber Elbaz, the brand's creative director.

 

Issey Miyaki's New range of timepieces

 

High-end watch and jewellery retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has just announced the availability of a new range of watches by five designers chosen by Japanese fashion and lifestyle brand Issey Miyake. The collection of unique timepieces, for both men and women, from Miyake Design and watch specialists Seiko Instruments, have been created by the designers to reflect Issey Miyake's brand ethos of expert craftsmanship and watch technology, said a release.

 

Reebok reworks the Kamikaze

 

Sports apparel maker Reebok has just announced the Kamikaze 2K10, a throwback to one of the company's most iconic and sought-after basketball shoes of the 1990s. Based on the Kamikaze II, the shoe takes heavy design influence from the original which was made famous by Shawn Kemp, then of the Seattle Supersonics. The Kamikaze 2K10 is available for $79 (Dh290).

 

Chloé reveals Maya

 

French fashion house Chloé recently revealed Maya, a luxury lip balm for ladies on the go.

Perfumed with the rose accords of a Chloé fragrance, Maya comes in a glass jar crowned with a silver metal cap and is nestled in a grey leather case. The beauty product will retail for Dh350 exclusively at Harvey Nichols in Mall of the Emirates and the Chloé Boutique in Emirates Towers from April.
