Nabati poetry contest begins today

The fourth season of the Nabati poetry contest Million's Poet begins tonight in a live broadcast on Abu Dhabi TV.

The event is being organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), which revealed details about the competition's new season in a press conference at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Director-General of ADACH, said: "The competition emphasises the great effort of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage in promoting Nabati poetry. Since its launch the programme has witnessed the emergence of 192 poets from different parts of the world. Now, it has become the dream of every poet in the Arab World to participate in the programme and be among the shortlist of 48 top poets."
