Mid-size enterprises are more likely to adopt cutting-edge data centre technologies to reduce IT costs and manage complexity, according to Symantec's '2010 State of the art Data center study'.

Mid-sized data centres (2,000 to 9,999 employees) show more activity, with more IT managers predicting major changes in data centres and new applications. Mid-sized firms also place a higher importance on staffing than their small- or large-scale counterparts.

"Although mid-sized firms tend to evaluate and adopt new technologies at a faster rate than larger organisations, they still face complexities that are compounded by adopting new initiatives," said Anthony Harrison, Senior Principal Solutions Specialist, Symantec, Mena.
