DTCM starts training course for nationals

UAE national students will have an opportunity to learn about the hospitality industry at a new summer training course launched by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

Introduction to Hospitality Today will be offered jointly by the department's Training Solutions section and the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA).

"The course works in conjunction with a textbook but students will also get hands-on learning experience about the different aspects of hotel operations," said Ibrahim Yaqoot, the DTCM's Executive Director of Corporate Support. The course is intended to give students a broad overview of the service industry, including management of restaurants, resorts, bed and breakfasts and a variety of hotels, rom five-star hotels to family-run hotels.
