Indo-Saudi visa agreement welcomed
An agreement by India and Saudi Arabia to grant mutual long-term multiple entry visas to businesspersons from both countries on a reciprocal basis has been welcomed by the Indian business community in the UAE.
Many travel agents and businesspersons said the agreement will boost business with the kingdom for many UAE-based Indian companies.
On Saturday, India and Saudi Arabia signed the visa agreement and decided to strengthen co-operation in fields such as customs, science and technology, oil and gas, and minerals at the eighth session of the Indo-Saudi Joint Commission in Riyadh.
It was attended by Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who was accompanied by a 50-member delegation, and Saudi Commerce and Industry Minister Abdullah Zainal Alireza.
