World tourism to recover this year

International tourist arrivals should increase three to four per cent in 2010 after a difficult year, the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) said.

International tourist arrivals fell by an estimated four percent in 2009, it said in its World Tourism Barometer.

But "prospects have also improved, with arrivals now forecast to grow between three and four per cent in 2010. This outlook is confirmed by the remarkable rise of the UNWTO Panel of Experts Confidence index."
