Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday signed a partnership pact with Amanresorts and GHM to build and run a lifestyle resort that will anchor the hospitality offering within the Dubai Trade Centre development. The project will be built with multi-billion dirham investments.
The agreement marks a strong start for Amanresorts in the Middle East as well as the launch of GHM work in the UAE.
The agreement was signed by DWTC Director-General Helal Saeed Al Marri and Chairman of Amanresorts and Non-Executive Chairman of GHM Adrian Zecha.
The destination will offer outstanding facilities, exceptional service and a broad range of rooms and apartments delivered in an environment of unmatched elegance and refined luxury, a statement said. The resort will have four restaurants created by leading names in international cuisine.
According to Zecha, the project will be a model to be followed in the world of resorts. Details and final cost will be announced this summer, he said, adding that three to four of the project's buildings will be completed by 2012.
Meanwhile, Al Marri said the project is in harmony with the targets of Dubai strategic plan to attract selective world projects offering unique health services.
GHM President Hans Jenni said: "Our ideas and understanding of business travellers' expectations of luxury and relaxation blend well with those of Dubai World Trade Centre."
Amanresorts owns and operates 22 luxury hotels in 12 countries and Aman Group has received worldwide recognition and awards.
GHM operates a contemporary range of hotels across Europe, Asia, United States and the Middle East.
Dubai World Trade Centre envisions the development to be a global epicentre for business that provides world-class facilities and infrastructure, and the hotels, apartments and towers, will blend into the surrounding cityscape. The development will offer a state-of-the-art convention centre at its core, office and residential towers as well as a wide range of boutique retail outlets.
