Verhofstadt calls for European monetary fund

Guy Verhofstadt, leader of the liberals in the European Parliament, called for a European monetary fund, following the Greek debt crisis that threatened to spread to other European countries. "There has to be a European monetary fund," Verhofstadt said on Buitenhof, a talk show on Dutch public television. "We have a euro zone, which has to be able to act quickly."
