Bahrain denies suspension of bridge project

Bahrain denied reports that a project to build a bridge connecting the Gulf Arab island kingdom with Qatar was suspended, the official Bahrain News Agency reported, citing the finance ministry undersecretary.

Work on the bridge project was progressing as scheduled, Arif Saleh Khamees said, the agency reported. Local media had earlier reported that Bahrain has put on hold a $3 billion (Dh11bn) project to build the bridge because of rising costs.
