Dubai Consulting Office approves plans for 2009

The board of the Consulting Office of the Emirate of Dubai has approved its 2009 strategic plan laid down in consultation and co-ordination with concerned government bodies.

The meeting, chaired by the Secretary-General of Dubai Executive Council, Ahmad bin Byat, reviewed progress since launch in August last year up to the end of 2008 and approved the basic principles on which future plans will be based and where focus will be on the extension of innovative services, exchange of knowledge, efficiency and development by government bodies .

Bin Byat expressed satisfaction with the level of progress made by the office so far, stressing that it will continue to work to execute its plan to be an important strategic partner to Dubai's government bodies.

Meanwhile, CEO Huda Al Hashimi said the next phase will focus on generating ideas and implementing all-out integrated initiatives that enables decision making and improvement of services.

She said the office has executed a number of successful consultancy projects with government bodies, including the Department of Health and Medical Services, Community Development Authority, Department of Economic Development and Civil Defence.

Al Hashimi also said the office will continue work to develop the knowledge management project in a way as to serve the emirate's government. The Consulting Office is an initiative to provide consultancy services to the Dubai's Government.
