MoE to implement 2010 strategy in line with UAE charter

A strategic meeting of executive directors, head of departments and consultants at the Ministry of Economy was held to discuss the mechanisms and plans for implementing the ministry's strategy for 2010 in line with the UAE national charter. Participants in the meeting highlighted the major achievements in 2009 and the operational plans for 2010.

Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shihhi, Director-General of the ministry, said the ministry is committed to making the national charter as a base and main indicator for the ministry's initiatives. "We have a great responsibility in implementing our initiatives in line with the components of the national charter, and by transferring it into practical programmes and plans in order to convey its vision of making the UAE a top-notch destination by 2021 across all sectors.

"Our economy has already achieved tremendous progress and we are keen to develop this success across all levels," Al Shhihi added. He also highlighted that the UAE leadership is focused on building human resources as a key component for development and to shape the country as a global centre for knowledge-based economy.

He directed the ministry's leadership team to commit to the national document.
