The UAE's total external trade from non-crude oil products reached Dh1.8 trillion from 2003 to 2007. This covered Dh1.288 billion in value of imports, Dh105.3bn in exports and Dh438.3bn in re-exports.
"The total trade volume of non-crude oil products from 2003 to 2007 was weighted at 508 million tonnes – 238.21 million tonnes in imports, 203.7 tonnes in exports and 66.1 million tonnes in re-exports," said Mohammed Khalifa bin Fahed Al Muhairi, General Manager for the Federal Customs Authority. "The authority's statistics data base the authority had revealed a rise in value of the total exterior trade volume from Dh209.3bn in 2003 to Dh563bn in 2007 indicating a rise of Dh353.7bn, while the total external trade volume in weight was 108.5 million tonnes in 2007, which means the average daily packages that all customs outlets have cleared, whether exporting, importing or re-exporting, was 417,300 tonnes in an eight-hour working day, five days a week, at an average of 52,200 tones per hour, 869.7 tones per minute and 14.5 tones per second."
The UAE had conducted commercial deals with 198 countries from six different regions: Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Pacific, West and Central Africa, East and South Africa, Europe, America and the Caribbean.
Asia and the Pacific came first in the sequence of the commercial partners. (Wam)
