'UAE strong enough to limit effects of crisis'
Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, received yesterday Aleksander Grad, the Polish Minister of Treasury, Roman Hawtshkivitch, Ambassador of Poland in the UAE, and a high-ranking Polish delegation. They discussed ways to boost cooperation and strengthen ties between the two nations.
Al Mansouri highlighted the UAE's inherent strength to limit the negative effects of the current global turmoil. He praised the strategic partnership that bonds the UAE and Poland, stressing on strengthening cooperation and sharing know-how in key growth sectors, particularly the energy sector, chemical industries and mutual investments.
The two sides discussed the outcomes of the international financial crisis and its consequences on the global economy, as well as the actions taken by the Polish and Emarati authorities to limit the negative effects.
The Polish and Emarati officials agreed to explore investment opportunities available in the two countries by boosting the bilateral committee's work and creating a specialised team dedicated to this purpose.
Al Mansouri said the UAE looks forward to boost relations with Poland and capitalise on investment opportunities available, especially in power generation and chemical industries.
The Polish minister expressed his country's readiness to cooperate on all levels with the UAE, praising the solid base that the UAE economy enjoys now. He also highlighted the keenness of several Polish organisations and businesses to invest in the UAE.
