More than 618,000 e-Bus cards, which enable passengers to pay their fares using a high-tech system, have been sold by the Public Transport Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority.
The cards were introduced in March to encourage people to use public transport and make travel on public buses easier and faster. Eventually passengers will be able to use the unified Nol card – which will be launched in September along with the Dubai Metro – to pay for travel on all forms of mass transport.
"We have so far sold more than 618,000 e-Bus cards at Dh18 per card," said agency Chief Executive Essa Abdul Rahman Al Dossari.
