Phil Orlandella, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority, said Wednesday that Flight 321 left Logan International Airport with 125 people on board at 1:16 a.m. EDT (0516 GMT) Wednesday. Shortly afterward, a warning light flashed for one of its engines.
Orlandella said pilots shut down the engine and returned to the airport. The Airbus 340 landed back at Logan at 1:47 a.m. EDT (0547 GMT). No injuries were reported.
Air France spokeswoman Karen Gillo said there was no engine fire.
Passengers were booked hotel rooms for the night and scheduled to leave to Paris on another flight later Wednesday.
