Car plate auction raises Dh40.9m

Fierce bidding at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel lasted up to the last minute of the sale, which sold off the coveted two, three, four and five-digit number plates in the categories E, F and G.

Four double-digit number plates (89, 43, 61 and 78) were also the subject of an unprecedented competition between more than 300 bidders.

Number plates 43 and 61 in category G topped the list and each of them was sold for Dh2.3m, followed by number plate G78, which was sold for Dh2.24m and F89, which went for Dh2.06m.
