Damac tops DSF promotions with island giveaway

Damac yesterday said that the lucky winners could walk away with an Eclipse 500 jet plane and the private island in the Caribbean.

Both, however, can be exchanged for cash. The offer is part of Damac’s Dh90m promotion during this year’s festival and is said to be the largest offer in terms of prize money and the biggest in the history of the shopping festival. Also on offer is a Bentley or a BMW with every apartment brought during DSF.

Announcing the details, Peter Riddoch, CEO of Damac Properties, told Emirates Business that anybody buying Damac property valued at more than Dh750,000 will be eligible to participate in the lucky draw. “Last year we gave away an Eclipse 500 and had promised that the offer will be bigger this year.

“This year we have added a private island in the beautiful and serene Caribbean Sea. The Pelican Caye Island is the one of the few private islands on the Turneffe Atoll and is perfect for a personal estate,” said Riddoch. “Having already given away property on land and an aircraft, we wanted to extend the offer,” he added. 

Dubai Shopping Festival, which runs from January 24 to February 24, is expected to attract around 3.5million visitors from all over the world. “With mega entertainment events and exciting offers, DSF 2008 is celebrating its 13th edition and we are privileged to be a prominent “support sponsor for an event which has grown bigger and exciting each year”, Riddoch said. He added that this is the first time any company has given away prizes of such magnitude.

“Apart from the jet plane and the private island, every customer gets a luxury car. A Bentley Continental comes free with every Signature Duplex and Penthouse, a BMW 1 series with a studio, or one-bedroom apartment or office/retail unit and a BMW 3 series with a two-bedroom apartment or above,” said Ridddoch.

Ahmad Farsiar from the UK won the Eclipse 500 personal jet last year from Damac, from among 700 property investors in 2007.
