Dubai Cares to work independently

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a law to form Dubai Cares Establishment as a non-governmental independent organisation.

 

The establishment aims to collect funds and donations inside and outside Dubai to achieve its objective of funding education for children in impoverished nations.

 

The establishment will also back and empower the civil community inside and outside the emirate to achieve objectives of human development, support social voluntary work and finance and support sustainable human development efforts.

 

The law stipulated the establishment shall have a board chairman and a number of members of not fewer than five, including the chairman, who are appointed by a decree issued by the ruler.

 

The establishment’s director shall be appointed by the board chairman. The establishment will have the right to open branches in any country to take its message and objectives to various levels through activities, meetings or direct contacts with various bodies.

 

The establishment’s financial resources will come from donations and returns of the establishment’s investments.

 

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed issued a decree to form the board of director of Dubai Cares Establishment, chaired by Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi.

 

The board is made of Dr Mariam Mohammed Mattar, Deputy Chairman, and Ahmed Abdul Wahid bin Shabib, Fahd Abdul Aziz Al Bannai, Huraiz Al Murr bin Huraiz, Mohammed Amin Al Imadi, Hala Yousuf Badri, Jamila Salem Al Muhairi and Fred Secreh. (Wam)
