Egypt bourse to start new trading system

Egypt's stock exchange will begin using a new trading system before June, its chairman said on Saturday.

Training on the new system for brokerages would begin on Sunday, Maged Shawky was quoted as saying by state news agency Mena.

Shawky said in February the exchange was putting in place a new trading platform built by Nordic bourse OMX AB to increase trading capacity and offer derivative financial products by the middle of 2009.

Egypt's benchmark Case 30 index has jumped about 10 per cent this year as the Arab economy posts its fastest rate of growth in at least two decades. (Reuters)
