Inflation rises in five German states in March

Inflation accelerated in five German states in March after a recovery of the global economy boosted energy prices. Consumer prices in Bavaria rose an annual 1.1 per cent after gaining 0.5 per cent in February. In North-Rhine Westphalia, prices increased an annual 1.2 per cent, while prices in Brandenburg and Hesse rose 0.8 per cent.
