Bayerische Motoren Werke, the world's biggest maker of luxury vehicles, aims to raise yearly deliveries by 54 per cent in the coming decade with new small cars and growth in China and India.

BMW plans to sell more than two million cars and sport-utility vehicles by 2020 compared with at least 1.3 million this year, Chief Executive Officer Norbert Reithofer said.

The car maker is forecasting a "sharp" gain in profit this year as a revamped 5-Series sedan wins buyers in BMW's biggest markets.
