Pope reaches five-year mark as Pontiff

Pope Benedict XVI reached the five-year mark as Pontiff yesterday with the Church mired in crisis over its handling of alleged sex offences. Allegations against the Church were the backdrop to a teary meeting between the Pope and abuse victims.
