Putin vows probe into Polish tragedy

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin yesterday promised an "objective and thorough" investigation into the causes of the plane crash on Russian soil that killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and some of the country's top officials. "It goes without saying that we will do everything to ensure that the investigation is objective and thorough," Putin told a cabinet meeting, quoted by Russian news agencies. Poles have been pouring into Warsaw to mourn the deaths.
