Khalifa reshuffles Cabinet

The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has endorsed on Sunday the new UAE Cabinet as presented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.


As he endorsed the new Cabinet, Sheikh Khalifa wished them success as they embark on their new roles. He also extended his thanks to the outgoing members for their efforts during their tenure in office.

The reshuffled Cabinet includes a new section for Foreign Trade while the Industrial Affairs at the former Ministry of Finance and Industry has been transferred to the Ministry of Economy.

The Ministry of State for Cabinet Affairs has become a full-fledged ministry known as the Ministry for Cabinet Affairs, which will be incorporated with the former Government Sector Development Ministry. The new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs will be headed by the outgoing Minister of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs.

The new Cabinet will also see an increase in the number of female ministers, from the previous two to the current four. Three ministries of state have also been created.

Following is the list of new Cabinet headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Defence:
