Nakheel hands over all buildings at International City

Nakheel, one of the world’s largest privately-held property developers, has completed the handover of all buildings at International City.


All 387 buildings have been handed over to owners and residents across all nine internationally themed precincts which make up the Residential District of International City. These buildings comprise of more than 22,000 apartments and will be home to 70,000 residents, said a statement.

“We are delighted with the delivery of International City. With more than 50,000 residents already living there, it is becoming, not only a great place to live but a great community.

We are thrilled to see the hard work that has gone into creating this development pay off. With landscaping under way, International City is an attractive option for a diverse range of people to call home,” said Rashid Obaid Al Helli, Director International City.

District that includes 34 plots are currently under construction by private developers. Neighbouring developments include the Dragon Mart Complex and Al Warsan Lake.

The nine internationally themed communities that make up the Residential District of International City are: China, England, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Persia and Russia.

The project was designed as an integrated multi-purpose development to meet the increasing demand for affordable housing in Dubai.

International City will see more people moving into the district by the end of 2008.

The construction started in 2003 and comprises the Residential District that includes 387 buildings.
