Adach pavilion a big hit at 61st Cannes Film Festival

The pavilion of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach) at the 61st Cannes Film Festival is seeing a large turnout from film industry experts, organisers said.

Adach's participation in the festival, which started on Wednesday, was with a view to enable dialogue and co-operation with the world's most prolific moviemakers, artists and industry experts. Brochures explaining the growing interest of the emirate in movie-making, as well as the activities of Adach, were distributed at the pavilion. The delegation from Abu Dhabi is headed by its Director-General, Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazroui.

In an effort to train local and Arab talent, Adach opened a film academy in Abu Dhabi in February this year in co-operation with the New York Film Institute. (Wam)
