Ban on import of birds from Saudi lifted
The Ministry of Environment and Water has lifted its ban on the import of live birds and related products from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
In a decree issued yesterday, Environment and Water Minister Dr Rashid Ahmed Fahd said cargo of any type of live or slaughtered birds, or their related products shall not be allowed into the country until an import permit for that is obtained from only the ministry before the importation is effected.
The decree says birds which have arrived at the country's entry points without the permit must be returned immediately to its origin.
