DIC launches single-window service centre

A single-window service centre for business partners and the public has been launched by Dubai Industrial City (DIC).

The scheme – called Taasees, meaning "establishment" – provides a range of services from 10 government organisations.

"Our aim is to conduct business electronically, to facilitate the supply of services and enable people to deal with government bodies all under one roof," said Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Tatweer, DIC's parent company.

"Taasees reflects our innovative and consistent approach to offering integrated services. We are proud to host one of the largest centres of its kind in the UAE. Dubai is very crowded and land is expensive and these are the main reasons we are building DIC far from the city. Our aim to create an economic area for the industrial sector that will be close to both the Jebel Ali Free Zone and the Abu Dhabi Free Zone."

Construction of a large number of projects at the industrial city has already begun. Al Malik said land in DIc cost 20 to 30 per cent less to lease than plots in Dubai.
